An Integrative Approach to Mental Wellness in Private Practice...

Navigating mental health challenges can be a daunting journey, but with the right support and approach, healing is possible. At 'Mary Brown Counselling', a private practice led by a mature mental health counsellor with a background in nursing, individuals are offered a unique and integrative approach to mental wellness.

Mary Brown's 28 years of experience in nursing have equipped her with a deep understanding of the connection between physical and mental health. Through her practice, she incorporates a holistic approach to counselling that takes into account the individual's emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being. One key aspect of Mary's approach is the emphasis on exploring difficult emotions and past traumas. By creating a safe and non-judgmental space for clients to delve into their emotional experiences, Mary helps them process and heal from the wounds of the past.

What sets 'Mary Brown Counselling' apart is the integrative nature of the counselling approach. Drawing from various therapeutic modalities such as cognitive-behavioural therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and person centred therapy, Mary tailors her sessions to meet the unique needs of each individual. This personalised approach ensures that clients receive the support and tools they need to navigate their mental health challenges effectively. If you are seeking counselling services and are looking for a holistic and personalised approach to mental wellness, 'Mary Brown Counselling' is here to support you on your journey towards healing. FAQs

1

What can I expect at the first session?

At the first session I will offer you warmth and authenticity . This session, which will last 50 minutes, is about getting to know you and finding out what you hope to get from counselling. It is a time for you to ask questions of me too.

It allows you to see if I am the counsellor for you.

2

How long will I be in therapy?

The length of time you stay in therapy is up to you. You are not tied into any number of sessions.

I would say however that like any relationship it takes time to grow.

3

How can I fit therapy around my life?

Counselling works best if it is weekly but it can be fortnightly.

Ideally it would be at the same time each week. I realise that this is not possible for all people, if that is the case, I can be flexible and work out a schedule to suit you.

“Counselling with Mary has made such a difference to my life."

About Mary Brown

At the age of 21, I first reached out for counselling. It proved to be transformative, I had no idea how powerful sharing could be. It was this experience and further life experiences that led me towards becoming a counsellor in later life.

My academic qualifications include a BA Hons in Counselling obtained from the University of Suffolk, and a Higher level Diploma in Nursing.
